  • The nice quality drawings and interpretation planning shared in the application demonstrate that appropriate concepts will be presented in an organized fashion and that appropriate interpretation techniques will be used to convey humanities content to the audience. The exhibit design takes into account the space limitations at the museum while creatively incorporating multiple surfaces and created space in order to display relevant artifacts and materials.

    NEH Grant Reviewer

  • This is a well-thought out and designed exhibit that identifies five key “turning points” in the island’s history that is both self-reflective and analytical. Although it is essentially local history of a small, somewhat remote place, the applicant clearly connects its history to broader national and global themes. This is really a top-notch effort by a local museum.
