Artifact Display Design

Working with Creo Exhibits, I was the project manager for the fabrication and installation of the exhibits for this incredible museum.

I designed all of the mounts for the museum’s artifacts and coordinated their installation. One of the most prominent was the display of three notebooks that Dylan used to compose his Blood on the Tracks album. These notebooks, known collectively as the Blood Notebooks, show the artist’s process as he worked through songs, including Tangled Up In Blue.

The Dylan Center owned two of the notebooks, but wanted to borrow the third notebook from the Morgan Library in New York. I worked with the Center and the conservation staff from the Morgan to plan and design the display mount for the notebooks. This design secured the loan of the Morgan’s notebook for the opening exhibit.

This is the first time the three notebooks have been displayed together. The iconic image of the three notebooks, displayed in the housing I designed, has been prominently featured in multiple press releases and media pieces, including an in-depth article in the New York Times.
